You can use BeautyWise without giving us anything
Everything the calculator does works before you sign in. Products you add, weights you enter and the costs it works out stay in your browser’s memory and are never sent to us. Close the tab and they are gone.
We only receive data when you choose to do something with it — create an account, ask for a report by email, or request the sample report.
What we collect, and why
If you create an account
What: your email address and password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in readable form); your first and last name; and optionally company, city, country, salon name and salon address if you enter them. Once signed in, the services and products you save — product names, purchase prices, sizes, weights, how many times used — and any service price you enter.
Why: to give you the account and saved data you asked for. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
If you ask for a report by email
What: your email address, your name, and the report itself
as a PDF.
Why: to send you the report you requested.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
If you request a report before creating an account, it is held temporarily so you can claim it, and deleted automatically after 30 days.
If you ask for the sample report from the home page
What: your email address.
Why: to send you the sample report and to record that you asked
for it. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
If you opt in to Nailology
What: your email address, the date you opted in, and the
exact wording you were shown when you did.
Why: to send you the newsletter, and to be able to demonstrate
your consent as Art. 7(1) GDPR requires.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
This is always optional and never a condition of using BeautyWise. You can withdraw it at any time, with effect for the future, using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.
Who else processes your data
We use three processors, each under a data processing agreement, and each only for the purpose below.

Where a processor is established outside the EU, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses together with supplementary measures. You may ask us for a copy of those safeguards.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own purposes.
What we deliberately do not do
- No advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
- No cookies beyond what signing in requires.
- The sign-up form talks to our own server, not to a third-party script, so your address is not exposed to anyone until you submit it.
- We do not add you to a newsletter because you used the calculator.
How long we keep it
- Account and saved data: until you delete the account, or ask us to.
- Unclaimed report requests: 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Consent records: for as long as needed to demonstrate consent, and for the statutory limitation period afterwards.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data (Art. 15), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17), to restrict processing (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable form (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Ours is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen, Kavalleriestr. 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
Is any of it required?
No. You are not obliged to give us any personal data. The only consequence of not doing so is that we cannot provide the parts that need it — a saved account, or a report sent to your inbox. The calculator itself stays fully usable.
